The important work we do at LBWF has kept our dogs with cancer, living a longer, quality life without chemotherapy or radiation. Do you have a loved pet or a friend that has a pet suffering from cancer? Many of you may not realize my fight to end cancer!

For me, it’s personal, having lost both my mother and two personal dogs to cancer. Many of the products have potatoes in them and I know that to be the source, in many cases, that leads to our best friends getting cancer.  The same is true with cat food. What is in it that has given them feline leukemia?

When I grew up, cats never were sick with cancer and yet today, it seems they’re all sick. It’s in the food!  My passion was always keeping my rescue dogs healthy.  And through feeding certain dog foods over the years, I watched some brands make them fat and uncomfortable, so I never bought those products again.  Then, when I was sponsored and became a test feeder for a prominent pet food company. Sadly, after a few years, Many dogs were falling ill toCancer. Was it the water? Food?  Not even the veterinarians could figure it out.  And I was introduced to experts who taught me it was in the food! I cried oceans of tears. I was angry and I still am, upset that the pet food companies caused our beloved best friends to fall ill with cancer and other illnesses.

Many of the pet foods now are all going grain free. There’s a reason for it. No dog runs into a grain or potato field and eats grains, potatoes or corn. It’s not what they are driven to eat. Their bodies tell them what they need, especially since the pet food we have been feeding in the past years, had none of the nutrients they so desperately needed.  They eat grass for the necessary enzymes they need for their digestion. That’s how they deal with a stomach ache. When many of us grew up remember everybody blamed the dog for having gas?

If your pet is bloated or has gastrointestinal problems it will lead to illness. Please feed your dog grain free and healthy food. It doesn’t have to be expensive! My friend Burt Ward, sells his amazing dog food for a very affordable price. It’s called Gentle Giants.  Look it up online to see what stores sell it. I find it at Walmart and some grocery stores here in California. If you have a Costco store near you, they sell grain free pet foods at affordable prices as well.  Their online pricing is horrible and way too expensive. I don’t understand it, so don’t order it online.

We also feed Taste of the Wild grain free. I have been talking about grain free foods now for the last couple of years. Please make sure your pet food is grain free, no potato and I am not a fan of rice. No dog runs in to a rice field to consume it. Once in a while it is fine but not every day.  No matter what, the evidence shows the truthful findings through food testing and the health results.  I now avoid rice & potato in all my rescue dogs’ diets.

After losing my beloved founding dog, Sunny Boy, and his partner Riley to cancer, I have fought very hard for the last 5 years to find the answers. Many of the dogs that I’ve rescued come in with cancer and or developed it through the years. I now am able to see & find symptoms that prove the dogs are becoming affected with activated cancer cells. If you ever see your dog licking their back legs consistently, it’s one of the signs, which nobody can explain, except the fungus might be tingling as it’s growing and that’s what the cancer feeds off of.
