Important from Linda: Companion Animal Emergency Crisis in CA
LBWF has been reaching out to Governor Gavin Newsom’s office with the hopes of having companion animals added to any state of emergency declaration. The intention is this would open up funding for shelters and rescues alike, as we are all partners together with active boots on the ground.
All rescues network together and see the horrific state of homeless and abandoned animals not just in California, but throughout the entire country.
The dumping of dogs in the desert is beyond imagination. California’s response was they provided funding to UC Davis who is responsible for disbursing it in only $5000 grants to the shelters. This amount is very low compared to the severity of this crisis.
We all have so many questions!
We have been screaming from the rooftops for intervention for these poor defenseless souls. This issue is bigger than all of us! Right now there is a horrible situation in Lake LA involving 100 dogs packed into crates taken from a home. We implore the news media to shed light on these situations and help us make a real difference and give these animals a fighting chance!
To help us continue to help them, please share this post and DONATE what you can.
